Super Bowl Viewers React to This Singer Performing the National Anthem at the 2025 Game – All Stars Who Will Take the Stage

The Super Bowl ranks among the year’s most eagerly awaited events. This time, the performance lineup announcement has thrilled music enthusiasts eager to watch their favorite artists take the stage.

Super Bowl 59 will feature standout musical acts, with the national anthem and halftime show as key highlights. Fans are especially eager for the acclaimed artist performing the anthem, predicting a “legendary” moment.

The National Football League revealed the pregame lineup on Instagram, calling it “a celebration in New Orleans.” The announcement also confirmed the highly anticipated date: February 9, 2025.

Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. ET, and with the game lasting about three to four hours, the halftime show will likely start between 8 and 8:30 p.m. ET, depending on the pace of play.

New Orleans, set to host its 11th Super Bowl, has been home to some of the most memorable halftime performances. The city has welcomed legendary artists, including Beyoncé, U2, The Blues Brothers, and James Brown, as well as the iconic Ella Fitzgerald.

With a reputation for hosting legendary performances, this year’s Super Bowl lineup continues the tradition of star power. From Grammy winners to gifted prodigies, a diverse group of artists is set to take the stage at the highly anticipated event.

Kendrick Lamar

Headlining this year’s event is Kendrick Lamar, adding to the growing anticipation surrounding the night. While Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles fans pack the Caesars Superdome, music lovers will be just as keen to watch the 22-time Grammy winner and Pulitzer Prize recipient take the stage.

The rapper, who has over 17 million Instagram followers, confirmed the news in a September 2024 video in which he ran a football passing machine while coaching a player off-screen.

“My name is Kendrick Lamar, and I’ll be performing at Super Bowl LIX,” he announced, adding, “You know there’s only one opportunity to win a championship. No round tools. Let’s get it.”

Lamar is no stranger to the Super Bowl spotlight. In 2022, he made a memorable appearance during Dr. Dre’s Super Bowl LVI halftime show, joining a star-studded lineup that included Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and Mary J. Blige.

As Lamar takes center stage, he won’t be performing alone. Joining him as a special guest will be SZA, a four-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter. She and Lamar have collaborated on “All the Stars” as well as “GNX” from his most recent album.

Lauren Diagle

Adding to the star-studded event, Lauren Daigle, a two-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, will perform.

Known for her success in Christian pop, the musician has topped the Hot Christian Songs chart four times, with “You Say” standing out as her biggest crossover hit, reaching No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her latest album, “Sessions,” is out now.

Trombone Shorty

Daigle will team up with a celebrated New Orleans musician who is always on tour. She will perform “America the Beautiful” with Trombone Shorty, a Grammy-winning musician from New Orleans.

He has toured with Aerosmith, the Foo Fighters, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, performed at the 2014 Grammy Awards, and appeared twice at the White House during Barack Obama’s presidency.

Shorty’s ties to New Orleans run deep. At four years old, he played at the city’s iconic Jazz Fest with Bo Diddley. Now a Grammy winner with five albums, he has also toured with Lenny Kravitz.

Ledisi

Another Grammy-winning artist will take the stage to conclude the pre-game performances. Ledisi will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” at the event.

Hailing from New Orleans, she has earned two Grammy nominations, including a Best New Artist nod in 2007 for her album “Lost and Found.” In 2020, she won Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Anything for You.”

Ledisi, with 11 albums to her name, has also left her mark on screen. She portrayed Mahalia Jackson in the 2014 film “Selma,” which received a Best Picture nomination at the Academy Awards.

Jon Batiste

Kicking off the pre-game performances, Jon Batiste will take the stage for the national anthem at Super Bowl LIX. The NFL announced in 2024 that the seven-time Grammy-winning artist, known for his longtime role as bandleader on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

A Louisiana native, Batiste, who describes himself as a “Joyful heroic American maestro,” has won five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year for “We Are” in 2021.
